The Pose Method is my signature branded photography posing flow, handcrafted by yours truly after 250 (and rising!) photoshoots in the field.
Phew. That’s a lot of running around trying to capture the perfect shot! 😅
The Pose Method is a legacy collection of *actual poses* you can put your on-camera client into. (Or use them on your friends at parties. Also fun! 🎉)
The Pose Method was developed after hundreds of brand photography sessions with real-world clients. These posing flows aren’t only tested, mama. They’re proven to work behind the lens and in front of it.
Inside The Pose Method, I’ll be walking you step-by-step through the entire photography process. From planning the shoot to how to boost both your own confidence AND the confidence of your client, there’s nothing I’ve left out.
Believe me, I checked. I’ve spent what feels like infinity afternoons perfecting this puppy. It’s all in here.
I WISH there had been a cheat sheet like this I could reference on my first hundred brand client sessions.
I remember when I FIRST got into photography and started directing and posing my clients on camera. I had no idea what I was doing back then! Jumping back and forth between posing ideas — and often coming up blank — would cause me so much stress before and after the photoshoots. In the early days, sometimes I’d even get the photos back and think to myself, “Man, I wish I’d put her arm over here instead.”
To strengthen my posing muscles, I would study dozens and dozens of poses and practice talking my clients through them. I even made my own posing flow Pinterest boards to reference on the photoshoot if I came up dry.
What I didn’t know at the time is that my dozens of Pinterest boards and pages of notes on my iPhone was the beginning of something one-of-a-kind:
